Friday Kitchen - Ganapati Chicken Masala
What is it
Ganapati Chicken MasalaIngredients
400g Chicken Diced
1 Onion sliced
100g Desiccated Coconut
2-3 Red Chillies
1 green chilli
75g Tamarind paste
½ tsp Cumin seed
½ tsp Coriander seed
½ tsp mustard seed
2 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
2 cloves
½ cinnamon stick
1-2 cardamom pods
2 tbsp ground cashew nuts (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Make the Masala paste:
Place all ingredients in to food processor and blend with a little water and oil until smooth
To finish:
Heat oil and fry the onions till well browned add the masala and fry until the oil seperates now add the chicken pieces, season to taste and simmer until the chicken is cooked
