Purbeck Vineyard gets ready to ‘uncork’ the harvest.
Months of preparation were fulfilled as the Purbeck Vineyard in Dorset took in the first grapes of the 2009 harvest. The winemaking team are busy preparing the winery to be grape ready, as volunteers from around the area bring in the harvest.
Harvest is the most significant time in the year for the vineyard and, due to ideal weather conditions, 2009 is set to produce an outstanding harvest both in quality and quantity. The small, family-run vineyard has 3,000 vines, representing several grape varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Seyval Blanc and Phoenix.
