Windsurfers race from Sandbanks to Christchurch

50 windsurfers raced from Sandbanks (Poole) to Avon Beach (Christchurch) Sunday 12 July.

Guy Cribb (from Poole) won the race in 33 minutes, with Kevin Greenslade (Weymouth) 2nd in 37 minutes, Oli Woodcock (Chichester) 3rd in 38 minutes. Last place finishers took 137 minutes!

Wind conditions were quite light for windsurfing but still the leaders were traveling at around 30 knots.

The event was supported by the local windsurfing shops in Poole and Guy Cribb INtuition windsurf coaching.

Guy Cribb is 13x UK Windsurfing Champion and sailing ten miles to Christchurch was nothing compared with endurance events he's completed in the passed years, including windsurfing from Bournemouth to Brighton in a 50 knot storm and across the English Channel from Cherburg to Poole in a 30 knot storm.
