"The long awaited second harbour bridge in Poole was finally opened to residents on Saturday 25th February 2012. The event started with a civic procession led by the mayor, Councillor Graham Wilson, from Poole Museum to the bridge. Residents were then able to watch the bridge rise into the sky before being allowed to walk across it for the very first time.

The bridge joins Hamworthy and Poole Port and was designed to reflect the sails of a yacht, it is the first type of this kind to be built.

Tickets are limited on a first come first served basis from Wednesday 29th February 2012 from Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts - 0844 406 8666.
